Spend a fantastic week of mountain bike riding in the
French Catalan Pyrenees. Your base for the week is in the beautiful alpine
town of Font Romeu which is in the heart of some of the best mountain bike
trails in the Pyrenees.
The focus of the tour is a mixture of excellent XC style
riding with plenty of downhill runs to play on as well. For the hardcore
downhill riders we offer an optional day trip (June to September only) to the fantastic downhill
centre of Vallnord in Andorra, complete with chairlifts - full body armour
required!
We offer the use of our own hardtail hire bike, but for the
enthusiast we recommend bringing your own bike.

Routes
The Font Romeu area is a Mountain Biker's paradise with
many trails to chose from to suit all levels. The riding area is partly made
up by the Font Romeu ski resort that offers the chance to ride the pistes. A
large component of the rides are also made up of the 'Nordic skiing' routes
that are well signed, offering literally hundreds of kilometres of top
quality cross country riding.
Additionally, many of the rides have well marked 'liasons'
which allow two or more routes to join up, making for a great day out
of riding in the Pyrenees.

Transfers
Creative Catalonia will transfer you from Girona
airport, bus
or train station to your chosen accommodation and return at the end of your
stay. We also offer a transfer service to Barcelona airport, if required.
Accommodation
Staying at
the charming 'Les Ramiers' Gite guesthouse on a self-catering
basis. Les Ramiers is a beautiful traditional mountain lodge, converted into
self-catering accommodation. It is perfectly located for all of the trails
which can be accessed right from the front door. Additionally, it is only a
couple of kilometres to the town of Font Romeu for shopping, restaurants,
cafe's etc...

Another
option is to stay at the centrally located and recently renovated 'Hotel
de la Poste' in Font Romeu. The accommodation is on a Bed & Breakfast
basis and the hotel is located in the heart of the town making trips out for shopping,
restaurants and cafe's a breeze. The mountain bike trails can easily be
ridden from the front door of the hotel.

The bike for this Mountain Bike tour is the 'Conor AFX 8500 Hardtail'. For
those demanding a higher specification bike than the Conor, please ask.
